Sorry for the delay in responding. All I have on my laptop after a head failure on my HDD is a .BMP editor for graphics.

It's very possible this was just a creative writing exercise that got upscaled to ARG and the blog wasn't meant to be IG.
It'd be hard to fudge the dates and number of friends he has, retroactively.

S/He said this the "requisite 'word' puzzle", so I think that the title shows the method. [How to change "(wod-3)-1" into "word"] and that if we get that, the same method should work for the other 3 ...

On the puzzle audio, my best guess is that it's a Penn Station announcement about Amtrack train # 73 (The Carolinian and Piedmont) on platform 4.
Can't validate a 12:44 time, though.
